Assistive Technology Demonstration Center

This on-site facility lets you try out assistive technology (AT) devices, such as assistive listening devices, blind/low vision aids, daily living aids, and more, free of charge. A certified Assistive Technology Specialist is on hand to answer your questions and provide demonstrations, enabling you to make informed decisions before purchasing equipment.

All our AT equipment and devices are available for trial onsite by individuals with disabilities and their caregivers or family members for use at home, school, work, or play. By making equipment available and accessible, and having staff on hand to answer questions and to guide and support the trial process, users are able to make informed decisions as to what will work best for them.

Making an informed choice based on a demonstration and trial of the product in question benefits the user in a variety of ways:

  • It allows for comparative shopping.
  • It results in time and money saved in selecting the appropriate device the first time around.
  • It increases the level of confidence and independence for the user.
  • It provides a feeling of security to family members and caregivers.

UCP Central PA staffs and maintains the Demonstration Center in Camp Hill, PA, in partnership with Pennsylvania’s Initiative on Assistive Technology (PIAT).

Demonstration Center Hours of Operation:
Tuesdays, noon to 3:00pm
Thursdays, 9:00am to noon

Scheduled visits outside these hours or demonstrations of specific devices are available by appointment only.
